No pic but the explaination painted a good visual. Sounds like an interesting campaign that might work on some fliers for residential.

Is your company prepared for the next Superstorm like Sandy?
Paul Kassander replied to John T's question in The Club House
Seems like a good niche market Matt. Smart of you guys to team up together too, sounds like a win win to me. If you didn't get all the super storms though, do you think that would be a good investment to have the equipment? Is there enough regular work to make it worthwhile? -

pressure washer overheating
Paul Kassander replied to COACHS's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
If you are in an enclosed trailer you may try switching the oil to a straight 30W it has corrected oil shutdown issues with me in the past. I had units that the oil would get so thin because of te heat it would shut down the unit. #2 on that machine is there a thermal shutdown? On the inlet side of the pump there may be a thermal sensor (looks like a high limit switch)that is designed to shut the motor down if the water gets too hot. Try disconnecting it it may be causing it to kill the engine even if it is not hot. -

What is the Best Turbo Nozzle Made
Paul Kassander replied to Lightning Gene's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
PA makes one of the most agressive 18 degree pattern and they are loaded with a spring washer to keep the nozzle seated on the race. They do have a tendencey to stop spinning sooner than some of the others. Rotomax makes a good one that is inexpensive and will last a long time but you must start it with the nozzle pointed down to prevent damaging the nozzle and race. Suttners are always good but same thing with the nozzle. For me the firs choice is the Rotojet or Suttner. -
I'm not too far from there Celeste, about an hour to an hour and a half.

I would go with the 5.5 @2500 gpm. You will be able to do all the same work with equal or better results and your speed will be much faster.

Awarding One company a yr for a volunteer cleaning
Paul Kassander replied to John T's question in The Club House
I am sure most do it because they want to help others, not for the award. It would be nice for those who do a lot to be recognized for their efforts, good idea John. -
Do,s and don'ts of buying trailer mounted
Paul Kassander replied to downndirty's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
A bit low on the gpm and the tank is small. The points mentioned above really cover it your looking at a push mower that will make it difficult to make any money doing what you are looking at. Speed and efficiency are key in fleets and flatwork so bigger is better. -

You will want to do some more research on the proper detergents you will need to clean the wood the search feature here will help with that. Just pressure and water will be very damaging to the surface. You will need hoses, guns, tips and more to keep yourself up and running and to handle many jobs you encounter. Downstreamers will require additional parts like the injector and some nozzles. Feel free to call me as well I would be happy to help you get started. 855-351-9274

Been there too...if you use the hook you need a lower pressure nozzle like a soap nozzle and just use it to rinse when you are done or to blast out the downspout. I prefer the ladder and bucket method myself as well for clean out but I will rinse with the gutter hook form time to time.

Proud of My industry After 27 Years
Paul Kassander replied to Ron Musgraves's question in The Club House
THANK YOU to all who purchased tickets and supported the event, including the other vendor suppliers who purchased tickets it all went to a great cause. It really feels good to give back, especially now when times are tough and the giving levels are down. Through the donations we will be able to sponsor a child's wish which I think is just amazing. We really need to send a special thank you to Pamela Starr of Constant Contact as well. She purchased tickets for the raffle and said that if she won we were to auction the unit. she won and through the auction we raised an additional $1000.00 for Make A Wish. If you get time visit her face book page and tell her thanks! Pamela Starr -
5000psi ball valve problem
Paul Kassander replied to Wayne G.'s topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The original high pressure ball valves seem to hold up better than the cheap plated steel ones(shiny outside). They are a little more expensive but are worth the money (about $5-10 more). The handles are better and don't fall off (unless you loose the screw) and they don't get stiff or seize up quickly like the cheap ones do. I think you need to solve the spiking issue to eliminate your problems though. If your pressure is spiking that high you need to adjust your unloader because you are damaging more than just the ball valve, each spike is wearing on your packings and more. Your unloader should be set to bypass no higher than a few hundred psi more than your max operating pressure. -
What water filter to buy. Help
Paul Kassander replied to morfeo's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The finer the mesh the more filtration you will get but it can also cause some restriction. A 40 or 50 mesh are usually enough to protect your pump. Be sure to get a large filter 1" or larger is best as they will offer the least restriction on inlet flow. Like Jerry said if you double feed your pump you will really help extend the life of the packings. -
Very nice...How many hundreds of feet did you stay away?

House Wash mix and things to be aware of!
Paul Kassander replied to metcalfec's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I prefer the downstream method myself. The GP Hi Lo nozzle is good but I have found with trapped pressure unloaders if you do not pull them back all the way and seat them fully you can blow out the seals. I cave been trying a new Hi-Lo nozzle that is actually a little smaller and less expensive for a few weeks. So far I have been happy with its durability, we will see how it holds up. -

Chemical Injection Pump
Paul Kassander replied to WashRite's question in Residential Pressure Washing
You can use a Shurflo pump to force feed the injector for greater draw rates. Your final % will vary based on the flow of your machine. A 1.8 gpm @100 psi pump is what I would recommend to do the job. -
engine revving/pressure fluctuating
Paul Kassander replied to cwarrior's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I agree try the Sea Foam first and see if ti cleans out the carb. It may be some lacquer like Russ said. Also the governor may need to be reset I have had some Kohler's that needed to be adjusted when we received them. -
Neutralizing Solution for Chemical Injectors
Paul Kassander replied to WashRite's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The acids and bleach solutions will do the most damage to the injectors. Water is usually adequate to flush it out but with the acids you may want to run some alkaline cleaner through to stop the corrosive effects on the surface.
