Wow and to think I knew you when you were just a regular poster...child. Congratulations
  4. Educational Seminar

sorry I have slow and shaky fingers with the cold. sales@mobicleaninc.com
  5. Tax Question

I agree with Mike, if you are not well versed in tax law hire an accountant. the day to day accounting is one thing but when it comes to taxes hire a professional, not only will they "find" more stuff to save you money but they can keep you from raising flags for an audit.
  6. If you can make the investment in brass or some sort of metal valve they will give yo much less headaches. Even if you have to use a T and some pipe mipples it might work better for you in the long run. Most of the plastic ones only last about 6 months and if you accidentally step on them or drop something you are out of luck.
  7. Load capacity

Better hurry and get it set up Jarrod, it is supposed to hit 12 this weekend.
  8. I'm a believer!!!!!!!!!!1

If you are looking for the downstreamer that sucks soap through 4-500' of hose John has decided to remake his super suds sucker that he had on the market a few years ago, keep your eyes peeled. He will be selling it in a month or two.
  9. Unbelievable! Is this OSHA approved?

He has fall protection, didn't you see the banner hanging off the building? the wind was kind of blowing it out like a net. CRAZY!!
  10. I'm a believer!!!!!!!!!!1

The 1/4" barb is just a standarg 1/4" barb x 1/4"mpt hose barb. The larger size gives you the opening to be able to drop the pressure for downstream chemical injection and it shoots it like a 0 degree tip. Plus if you want a little angle to the spray you can flatten the tip a little to get a spray pattern. Barbs
  11. Chemical info

Here is a useful link about our chemicals. http://www.envirospec.com/pdfs/chemmaster.pdf
  12. 2 wire hose vs. 1 wire?

2 wire will outlast the 1 wire by far, the extra cost is worth it.
  13. Sparkle wash

Franchises are ok for some but the cost is always high. Name recognition is about the only real benefit I can see. The informaton available here and other places will provide you more than enough information to run your business effectively. As far as training goes you can ask around on the board and see if anyone is willing to do labor for learning. I know I have done it in the past and will do it in the future as well.
  14. Oh I just saw the title of the post, FV-5530...duh. Well let me know if you want me to check for you.
  15. If you reach in the opening with your finger you should be able to pull out the brass ring that is in the head of the pump. Behind the rings are the packings which you should also be able to remove with your finger, or some gentle persausion with a pick or screwdriver. Be careful not to scrape the brass. When you get the new packings install them the same way as the old ones. I can get you a price on them if you let me know the model # of the pump.
  16. F-350 Dually

Oh yes, 2003 f550 lemon. I have had 2 turbos, 5 injectors, transmission, power steering pump, and the heads replaced. 24,000 mi baby. I will say my 97 f350 with the 7.3 was a really great truck. We will see how my new 250 holds up. Only 1 out of 6 have been a problem so far. But when the 550 works it is a great truck.
  17. Opinion please

I have heard the same thing.
  18. Can I brag, a little?

Some of Milwaukee's finest, after me of course.
  19. I run 150' lengths and will usually do 1 repair before replacing it. I replace them then because I cannot stand splices. Cost wise 50 or 100' lengths are the way to go. Mine will last about 6-8 months before they blow a hole about 25' back from pulling on the trailers, otherwise the casing lasts me a long time and we are washing on concrete and asphalt 5 days a week, mostly tractors and trailers. If you are washing trailers and tractors your hose will usually blow about 25' back where it catches on the feet. If you are going to run a real long length like that you can get a 200' hose and run a 100' on the end and replace that section as it wears. Invest in the 2 wire hose and you will not be sorry.
  20. Question about equipment

Right on Mike. I bought a 10 GPM dual man that I have been using lately on structures and some building cleaning it is awesome and I don't really appear to bu using any more water because of the time it saves... I love that flow.
  21. I hate cold weather

I would say go with what one you prefer. Me I would go for GPM. It will be underpowered though. Antifreeze is much better for winterizing and you don't have to worry about small pockets of water you may miss in blow out. If you are storing your equpment for the winter you should run antifreeze through the pump it will protect it from corrosion and hard water buildup. It also lubricates the seals. (heated storage too)
  22. Question about equipment

Yes definetly unit 2 the 5.6 gpm.
  23. I hate cold weather

Yes, the pully sizes can be changed to get the required rpm that you are looking for to drive the pump. The problem becomes horsepower, to achieve the full performance of the pump the ratio between GPM and Pressure is a constant no matter the rpm. In your case the TS2021 would work but you wild make a compromise on either pressure or volume. Power Plants, Power Requirement Formulas Pressure washers are generally powered by gasoline engines, diesel engines, propane fired engines, or electric motors. Force created by the power plant turns the pressure pump, which in turn moves the water. A power plant must have enough force to continue to turn the pump crankshaft when the pump is pushing water out its rated flow and pressure. The following formulas are used to determine how much power is required to drive a specific pump. The power is measured in horsepower. GPM x PSI then divide by 1457 Equals EBHP (Electric Motor) GPM x PSI then divide by 1100 Equals Gasoline HP (Industrial) GPM x PSI then divide by 900 Equals Gasoline HP (Standard) GPM x PSI then divide by 1260 Equals Diesel HP Other useful formulas: HP x Constant then divided by GPM = PSI HP x Constant then divided by PSI = GPM (in my tech lib. 24. Homeowner Perspective - a must read

Ken you always amaze me with the stuff you write and find. It has helped me to look at my business in a whole new perspective, after 14 years. And I think about your little quote "are you listening or just waiting to speak" if you can believe it, it has reduced my talking...not too much though.
  25. Question about equipment

What do you think put that big smile on his face.
