chemical drum pumps

This is probably your best bet. -
I probably have the dirtest truck in town LOL, I need about another hour in the day to take care of my own truck. Has anyone found that 25th hour yet? You are right black does look great when clean it is just getting the employees to do it. My color isn't far off though it is dark blue.

E-plus or premier will strip that off but if the siding is deteriorating that bad I would be very careful. From what you describe it almost sounds like a dry rot type situation. Like the cheap plastic furniture gets after a few years in the sun.

If you are looking for cold water Envirospec is making some nice high output machines.

ShopVac with pump out capability
Paul Kassander replied to Christopher's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have a vacuboom that I use for recollectiong when I cannot use the inserts I make. I have had it for about 6-7 years now and it works well. The only problem you may have with it is foaming from your soaps. If this happens you just spread some crystal defoamer by the pickup area and it runs ok. If you get one make the investment in the dual vac or it will have difficulty keeping up with the water. -
help with trailer setup

Better now than at your first job. When you hook up the tank you will want to put some type of blocking around the base to prevent it from sliding around when you are driving. Either some angle iron or some wood bolted to the floor tight to the tank. Then make some heavy duty ubolts out of some threaded rod and run them through the floor to the frame or make a big plate so they cannot pull back through the floor. Finally get some 2" rachet strap tie downs and strap the tank down to the floor. Now the tank won't bounce around or slide around when you are driving. Hope that helps you can call if you have any questions. -
Wonderful post, it really helps to maintain the perspective of why we work so hard.

As long as customs will allow it, which it should, I can ship there. I have all ready shipped to Iraq and Australia, I might as well add the UK. You may have to wait an extra day though because of the paperwork forms. Let me know if you are interested.

When did you get that pic of my deck?

Nice car, my tennant has the same one and it is fast. Sorry to hear you are selling it.

You should have no problem finding free used barrels. Most of the car and truck washes have their chem shipped in, unless the supplier is local, and they usually just throw them away.

help with trailer setup
Paul Kassander replied to TalcottPressureWashing's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Thats a good setup, well thought out. what is that piece on the back of the pump by the sight glass? Is that a support bracket to the guard? -
Blue white, but tose are my colors so I an a bit biased. Definately stay away from black it is much harder to maintain and keep clean, plus it gets extra hot in the summer.

Call your local chemical manufacturer, a lot of times they will have used ones very cheap or free.

Flow Flow Flow. Makes all the difference, hot or cold, remember you will not be using your burner when doing any wood. -
help with trailer setup

It makes no difference which side the inlet and outlet are located. Just remember the top 3/8 FPT openings are the high pressure side and the bottom 1/2" are the inlet or low pressure side. Move them around before you mount your machine for your ease in servicing later. What I usually do is remote mount my unloader off of the pump and use a jumper hose to it. I have found that they last longer because they are not subject to the vibration of the pump and motor. -
It looks pretty cool but you still have to clean the whole walk, and I wouldn't want to have to stop and unload that thing every 2 min because of all the gum.

It will leak if you are pressure feeding water ito the head and may not cavatate because you are able to supply more water than required and the excess flows out of the opening. The easiest way to check your ceramic plungers is to pull the head from the pump. Remove the 8 small bolts and pull gently. Then rub your dirty greasy hands on the plunger and wipe them off. If you see a black line on the plunger there is a crack and it should be replaced. Your packings are more than likely worn out and should be replaced as well. Heat or excessive pressure will cause them to wear. I have had some auctually turned inside out from a customer removing part of his unloader which caused the pump to build so much pressure the packings literally flipped. Jesse if your packings are only lasting 150 hours you may have another problem. with the return line to the tank you should be getting 100 times that use out of them. Give me a call and describe what is happening to them and I will help you get some more life out of them.

help with trailer setup

The TS2021 is the most common in type industry, or so they say. It is an exellent pump you will be very happy with it, I know I have been. Plus the repair parts a very inexpensive and widely available. As far as setting up your trailer you will want to mount the tanks over the axle as much as possible or slighlty forward of center. Put some slide blocks on the sides of the tank to keep it from movinb and strap it down. Make sure you maintain adequate tounge weight on the trailer, but not too much. If the weight is too far back the trailer will sway back and forth when going down the road. If you have a side door I would put your storage area in the front for your excess equipment and supplies which will help to maintain that weight in front. The machine is best mounted in the rear of the trailer for adequate airflow for cooling and access. If you can, use an exhaust diverter to get the exhaust out of the trailer and away from the machine so it is not sucking it back into the air cleaner. Then mount your hose reel and chem tanks and away you go. Good price on that machine by the way. -

Hydroblaster makes a really nice unit, really good quality and well engineered with Kohler engines and General pumps. Aladdin also makes a nice unit and Espec has their skid on sale CHEAP, with a lot of modifications for performance. -
I like the snakes idea. I think One Tough Pressure is right though, be careful if they are willing to steal the gas off your trailer more than once they might be willing to do more to your property. Plus if they don't steal it what are you going to do with the bad gas?

Help Choosing A Surface Cleaner
Paul Kassander replied to TNT Pressure Washing's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I know what you are saying about the Steel eagle being a little heavy and the swivels being expensive, but the only thing I have had to do is replace the o rings in the swivel once, and some occasional adjustments. Other than the time my guys ran mine over with the truck, 26,000 lbs, then I had to straighten it out with a hammer.
