That is a good pressure for decks as long as you still don't get too close or stay in one place too long.

Deicer that wont damage
Paul Kassander replied to Aqua Pro's question in Residential Pressure Washing
There was some liquid versions that were supposed to be ok but really they have their own issues too. I would look on one of the landscaper boards they will be much more familiar with it. -
Deicer that wont damage
Paul Kassander replied to Aqua Pro's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Calcium Chloride was supposed to be the answer but it is almost as bad as the rock salt. -
Good luck on your recovery and your new venture I hope both are successful for you.

Resusable or crimp on hose fittings?
Paul Kassander replied to Econoclean's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have used them form time to time but as an emergency repair only for me they just don't stay on the way I would like and I have to keep reinstalling them every once in a while. I prefer to re crimp my ends whenever I can it is just much more reliable in my work. -
Yes you can, depending on which model you have it will work better than others. Like Rick said the detergents and procedures make all the difference in how it turns out.

Water in pump oil
Paul Kassander replied to cwarrior's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Be sure to use a Non detergent oil, detergent oils will foam and create bubbles in it which can make it look like it is full of water. -
Soldering was a good choice, cant get much better than that. Wire nuts are also a good option for the connections.

White Ox rust stain remover--what is it?
Paul Kassander replied to Oxfordlawn's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Envirospec used to sell it but stopped carrying it about a year ago, it is different than regular Oxalic in its blend. Like Russ and Tracy suggested I would go with the Oxalic it should do the job for you just fine but the dwell time may be a bit longer or you will need to mix it a bit stronger. -

Hydraulic fluid/Engine Oil on Cobblestone
Paul Kassander replied to paulsmobilewashing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
+1 on the acid it will more than likely damage the paver's. The kitty litter route is a good one, you can also use a good degreaser with the hot water to wash it from the surface.- 11 replies

If it is a good solid brick a turbo nozzle will work well on the paint but the chips will be all over the place when you are done so set up some tarps. The mix you suggested should be fine for a final prep just be sure to rinse well.

Stucco
Paul Kassander replied to Prestige Pressure Washing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Don't get too aggressive with the pressure on the stucco it will damage quite easily. You can use the 8 gpm flow to your advantage the impact force of the extra water will aid in the cleaning process, just go to a larger nozzle size to reduce the pressure and maintain the gpm. Cold water should be sufficient to clean but heat will boost the effectiveness of the detergents. -
Ha ha I was thinking the same thing, seems like it was just yesterday I was and instructor for the ROTC...Congratulations Rob I am sure he will serve with honor and integrity.

Yes that is true if the mildew is heavier than usual, or you may need a longer dwell time. -
Now thats a sight to see.

Same mix should work fine for you. -
Tank draw with gear drives
Paul Kassander replied to Gutter Squad's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
For over the road tanks the Hudson valves are the best. they do mount internally you can support them off a pipe or use a bulkhead fitting and mount them with a short nipple to it. -
I agree your house wash mix will work fine and the stains from the grill may still leave some shadowing behind. You may need to use a degreaser there to remove it.

Customer call backs
Paul Kassander replied to powerhouse power wash's topic in Business Topics & Tips
I agree that is exactly how I would handle it. I also agree with the "burn out" issue people that are an disruption need to go immediately. I have lost some great employees that became 'infected' from the one bad apple... -
Tank draw with gear drives
Paul Kassander replied to Gutter Squad's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
A 50gallon tank is usually more than adequate with a constant water supply. -

Chemical Injector problem
Paul Kassander replied to map_911's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
If it is installed in the correct direction you can also check the injector orifice. IF some debris became lodged in the chamber or if the orifice backed out that can make the injector stop working as well. They usually come out with a Allen wrench or Flathead screwdriver. Just remove it clean the chamber and reinstall tight.
