Looks like some bad stuff there Ken. Look at all the damage it does in flooding. I try to use the word detergent and make sure that I will return the area to a Ph neutral environment.

Unloader Bypass Problem
Paul Kassander replied to bulletproof's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Yes you have the bypass line on the high pressure. what probably used to be there was an easy start valve which may look like a barb. -

Cleaning a wayne oil burner ??
Paul Kassander replied to netspider's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Wipe down with a rag, if the contacts are bad just use some sand paper to clen them up. Not really anything to worry about unless it is covering an electronic eye (which that one does not have) -
If you are planning a dual gun system you will want to go with a 8 gpm pump minimum but I would suggest 10gpm then each operator will have 5 gpm. The problem becomes your pressure at 8 gpm you can get up to 3300 psi at 10 you get about 2600 psi. The other issue is the burner it is not likely to have the high volume coil on it or the High volume burner assembly so don't expect too much heat any more. You can up the fuel nozzle and adjust the air bands and pressure to get a bit more but's but if you hit 150-160 at the high flow I would be surprised. For an unloader I would suggest the YU2140 it will be the most durable for that setup. (we use it on all our dual man units) For a pump a General or Udor will serve you well.

Steel Eagle problem
Paul Kassander replied to Mike Williamson's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Chris and Jim are right they are balanced and it is not worht the effort. I made my own once and it just didn't work quite right the right tools make all the difference. LIke a sharp drill bit and a dull one. do it right the first time and you will save money in the long run. -

Looks good, when you plumb the unit to your tank be sure to have an inline filter and be sure to use at least a 3/4" line 1" is preferable. -

Follow up call

Seems like a good response I would add a short call to action like Daniel said, give them a reason to sign now as opposed to waiting. -
downstreaming questions

The unloder acts as a type of relief valve that is its function. I can put a 500 psi valve on a 10000 psi pump and it can function just fine. With that unloder set at 500 psi the pump will never achieve a pressure greater than that. The most important thing is to make sure it can handle the flow rating. The only way I should ever have an issue is if I have a failure that would cause the unloder to see over 500 psi in this case. The pump builds pressure based on restriction and will continue to do so without any regulation until something fails. Water(gpm) forced through a tip of a certain size will create a certain pressure IE. 3 gpm through a #4 tip will create up to 4000 psi (as long as the pump can produce that pressure) 3 gpm through a #8 tip is about 600 psi...and so on (see nozzle chart) The function of an unloader is to bypass water so you can shut off flow at your gun without having to shut down your machine (think of it as a diverter valve). The unloder doesn't build pressure it only regulates it. When you 'adjust' your unloader what you are doing is to set the pressure at which the unloder will go into bypass mode which circulates the water without restriction. If I set my unloder to 800 psi and have it installed on a 10000 psi pump I will never be able to achieve over 800 psi on the pump no matter which tip I use. With a trapped pressure unloader it will bypass the water it cannot force through the nozzle at 800 psi. With a flow unloder if the tip is too small it will cycle on and off but still will not achieve more than 800 psi. With both unloaders the only way you will see a pressure greater than 800 psi, in this case, is if there is a failure of some sort. This is why you should always have a pressure relief valve on your pump. If you see an excessive spike in your unloader when you release the trigger beyond your operating or max pressure setting then you do not have the unloder adjusted properly and you need to readjust it to the proper setting (back it off). -

Good customer service pays, both short term and especially long term. Many of my customers have been customers for over 16 years.

Nice work, no more algae... Was that all a membrane roof? If so I am surprised they didn't put something down for the patio furniture, they may develop some holes or tears soon.

wood restoration rig
Paul Kassander replied to Littlefield's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
When mounting your units it is best to mount them in front of the rear wheels. When mounted in the back they will bounce up and down a lot more especially if your trailer is empty of water. This springboard action can be very damaging to your unit. -
what over steps the line as a biz owner with fellow contractors
Paul Kassander replied to all florida's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have never followed a competitor around. I have stopped to watch from time to time if I see them washing and have talked to their employees to see what they may be doing different but that is all. Never have I intentionally gone after a competitors work or made any attempt to sabotage them. Likewise most of the contractors in my area are the same and treat each other with the equal respect. Business is business and occasionaly we may loose a job to one another but that is the way it goes sometimes. There is a lot of work out there if you are willing to get it, messing with your competition is not the way to go. If we want to be seen as a professional trade we need to conduct our business in a manner that shows we are professionals. You don't hear about plumbers and electricians playing games like that... Oh yes please fill out your signature. -
xjet = downstreamer with variable nozzle?
Paul Kassander replied to premiumpowerwash's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
People like it. The product holds up well and has a very good draw rate as well as being less than half the cost of an x jet. Plus if you do not like a variable angle tip you can convert it to a QC and put whatever nozzle you want in it. -
Funny! I like his ride...

Definitely get your insurance company involved and make sure a report is filed like John said. If his knees are that bad that he can not stop a car he shouldn't be driving and if he told that to the cop it should be in the report. Plus he was fleeing the accident...I can't see why his insurance company wouldn't want to settle they could really get burned on this one.

We have this product it is called a Thruster Nozzle. -
It is always a good idea to be set up with backup equipment no matter what the size of your company. I always found that customers really don't want to hear about your breakdowns they just want the jobs done now.

Not too bad on the cost and it is interesting to see, not a lot of sites with that sort of thing. -
