Rotating nozzle
Paul Kassander replied to MichiganPowerWashing.com's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That is one high power machine! -
Depending on the type of equipment you have some have a flow switch, some a pressure switch. Either one will work for you if installed correctly, it is usually an application issue in determining which one to use.
-
So does Chris Chappel...
-
There will be 2 wires coming out of it that are connected to some other wires in a junction box usually. Trace them back from the flow switch and just connect the 2 wires together that they were connected to. If your burner works-bad switch and you need to replace it, otherwise it may be your limit switch-thermostat. bypass with the same procedure and replace if faulty. I would not suggest running your equipment without these items in place they are there for your safety and if bypassed it can cause your unit to go to steam and possibly explode. Be careful.

HELP!! unloader problem
Paul Kassander replied to TalcottPressureWashing's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Check for any leaks in the outlet line. Check for any leaks on the inlet -try pressure feeding pump with garden hose. Any air leaks should be exposed then. Check for debris in the unloader. Use a 1/4 bypass line. -

Any input on this machine?
Paul Kassander replied to ogetnom27's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That is an impossible rating for a 11 hp machine it would require a 14.4 hp engine to achieve that so I would be wary of that rating it is prob more like 3000 @ 4 gpm. The legacy pumps are OK, they are a GP knockoff. You may be able to do a bit better on the price if it is the 11 hp, especially if it is used. -

Mounting a Pressure Guage
Paul Kassander replied to rick77's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Where ever it is best visible would be best. -
You can order here. All web orders qualify for the 10% discount on most parts, the site reflects the discounted prices. Feel free to call if you have any questions.

If it is over 100' of hose you probably will need a different injector on that machine.
-
If you order on line they are $39.51 complete with quick connects and suction hose with screen.
-
A super suds sucker will give you the best draw rate on hose that long without the restriction caused by the smaller sized injectors restricting your flow. You will also need a soap nozzle or larger size tip to reduce the pressure in order to get the venturi in the injector to draw (all downstream injectors function this way). For longer distances you can use a 1/4" hose barb which will allow you to shoot as far as 3 stories.

Motor Blew Up Today
Paul Kassander replied to rick77's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The hose will begin to jump or you will feel a vibration/pulsation in the line. This can be caused by debris also so check them before replacing, sometime they can last years. -
Tank water and a direct drive unit
Paul Kassander replied to RRTServices's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
If there are no air pockets it will draw right away and pull up. If you have air in the line you may need to get the pump below the water level to get it to prime and suck the water. -
Decrease gallons per minute?
Paul Kassander replied to boss's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
If your unit is set up with a trapped pressure unloader you can reduce the output at the gun by simply installing a smaller nozzle, any excess water that is unable to be pushed through the nozzle will be sent into bypass. As an example if your unit is 3000 psi @ 8gpm you would use a 9 nozzle. To run 6.5 gpm= #7.5 nozzle, 5.2 gpm= #6. If you want to reduce pressure and flow you will need to adjust your unloader to the max pressure you want to achieve and then size your nozzle accordingly. If you do have a large volume machine it is best to have some sort of a buffer tank though, you do not want to starve the pump. -
How can gas get in with the oil on my 13 hp Honda pressure Washer engine?
Paul Kassander replied to Chuck Bergman PC's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Run some "sea foam" (name brand) through the gas once in a while and it will clean out th carb great! It seems the new gas has a tendency to gum up faster. -
Yes very relaxing and inviting.

I agree with the above, Cat pumps are good but General is just as good.
