sethfenster 14 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 I did my first awning last week for a residential customer. It was fabric and came out pretty well except for the tree sap spots. How can I get tree sap off a fabric awning? Thanks.
Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 Turpentine. Apply directly to the sap only till it is dissolved, then soap and water wash/rinse. Rod!~
Bob Rock 14 Report post Posted June 25, 2007 Sap is organic, these stains can be the most difficult to remove and, at times, demonstrate that they are permanent. The longer the residue remains in contact with the surface, the greater the chance that the stain will become permanent. Here is a suggestion on tree sap: Use Fabric Cleaner or Maintenance Clear by Awning Rejuvanation International. If it does not provide satisfactory results, use Streak Magic by ARI. Use a sofe brush on the stain area, then reclean with Fabric Cleaner or Maintenance Cleaner.
