Hot box fittings

Question

Hey Everyone,

I just purchased a hot box today. It came from the manufactuer with 1/2" female inlet and outlet. My question is what kind of fittings would you use (brass, steel, or stainless) to reduce it to 3/8" for my pressure hoses? If stainless, where would I get these fittings?

I was told that brass is only good upto 1000psi or so. Note my washer is 3500psi/5.6gpm unit.

Thanks in Advance,

RJ

We always use stainless steel bushings 304 (1/2"M x 3/8" F) when going from 1/2" to 3/8. Steel bushing are thin because of the dual thread pattern (inside and out) and tend to rust quickly when used in water service.
