Best Way To Apply Efc-38 And Wood Brightener

Question

On small deck I have been bushing it on . but should I be use and my delavan for large deck and rails . also what is the best amount of efc per gal of water to use.To clean mold & mildew, greydead wood off decks what it say it 5 oz doesn't seem to been get it all off. like the product just to fine tune everything .

Andrew,

Although we do not use EFC-38 specifically, we do use another percarb wood cleaner that is similar. Mixed at 6 - 8 oz./gal. of warm water, and usually sprayed on by a Delavan pump. For small jobs we often use a backpack sprayer.

Your problem may be not getting enough solution to the surface of the wood. Using a brush to apply percarbs or brighteners is too time consuming and difficult to get enough onto the wood. Generally figure coverage at about 100 sq. ft. per gal. of solution.
