Sodium Hypochlorite At WAL MART ??

Question

Yep, and here is the proof thumbsup.gif

It is rated at 10 percent, but probably started life out at 12.5

It is probably as strong as you guys outside of Florida are getting, and is there at WAL MART when you need it.

Price at 2.96 a gallon is steep compared to what WE pay, but we are in Florida, and buy a LOT smile.gif

Put a few drops on some skin and see how fast it heats up. The faster the better. You live too close to Greenville and Anderson to not find 12.5% at a good rate somewere. Stay away from the pool stores if you can, there way high $$$.

The SH test makes sense but sounds like it could be painful if overdone.

The closest sodium hypochlorite that I know of is at The Chemical Connection in Mauldin, SC apx. 50 miles away. I have actually gotten two seperate quotes from them for a 5 gallon amount of 12.5 % SH.

The last quote I got was $30.00 but the first quote was significantly lower. I don't know what's up with two seperate prices so I'm going to call them back today if I can.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, sometimes, the pool store is closed, and you may have waiting customers.

So you pay a little more, but still make some Money.

Please work on filling in your signature when you get a chance ?

No 10% at the supercenter here :lgsad:

I've called every pool store within 50 miles or so, no dice. I did find a local place that orders mostly janitorial stuff for local businesses. They offere me a box of (4) 1 gal. jugs of 12.5% for the low, low price of.......$39.95!! And I had to wait for them to get up to a $600 order, or pay shipping. No thanks.

The only other place i've found is a chemical distributor about 70 miles away. They had 10% for $2.19 gal, 55 gal drums only. Minimum order is $800, and they still charge shipping.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the wal-mart stuff.

What the heck..Is TN like a dry state or somethin?..Is absolutely shocking to hear people having problems finding 10% or 12% local to them. I mean I never even have to goto a pool place for 12%. Ace carries right at the front door from a local chem company. Them 10% 2 gal boxes or one gal singles are like everywhere here. Walmart, Kmart, Osh, HD.., etc, etc... I don't get it!

As long as i'm x-jetting, 6% works fine on vinyl at 2 gal per 5er most of the time. I would really like to get a good ds injector (the one I have now sucks.......errr I guess that's the problem...it doesn't suck), but i'm sure I would need stronger than 6%. I'm sure dsing would be faster. Biggest drawback seems to be the hose filling up with chems. How does a person throw chems any distance when dsing? Can you use a 0 degree tip and drop the pressure at the unloader until it draws? Sorry, a little off topic.
