0 Firedkm 14 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 This is a pool shock made for vinyl liner pools. It's made so it will not bleach out the liner like regular pool shock. It also costs more money
0 paul-uk 500 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 this some of the uses for it....it is 35% chlorine and used as a disinfectant and all safety practices should be followed. Lithium hypochlorite has limited uses as a disinfectant and bleaching agent for swimming pools and spas and in food preparation areas (e.g. dairies and butcher shops); and in dry laundry bleaches.(1,3,7,8) Disinfection of surfaces, furniture, sanitary engineering, clothes in hospitals and clinics. It is characterized by anti-microbe action against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Purifier of water in swimming pools.
0 Mike Williamson 198 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 35%, wow! I wonder how it would work on a roof, and at what strength?

0 Paul B. 523 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Mike, used incorrectly it can discolor vinyl (fabrics). Here is a bit more info on: Lithium Hypochlorite (LIOCl) Lithium hypochlorite is a newer entry in the field of chlorinating agents. It cost more than other hypochlorites, and it provides only about 35% available chlorine (vs. Calcium hypochlorite which provides 65%). It comes in granular form and is fast dissolving and totally soluble in water. It has a pH of 10.7. For reference: Sodium Hypochlorite has pH value of around 13 Lithium Hypochlorite pH value around 11 Calcium Hypochlorite pH 8.5 Dichlor (Stabilized Chlorine Granules) pH about 7 Trichlor (Chlorine Tablets) pH value below
