Pump Help/Advice

Recommended Posts

I have recently bought a 7'X16' enclosed trailer and have a hydrotek sc unit in it. The pump is fluctuating pressure so instead of fixing it i am going to replace it. the reason i want to replace it is because it has an upgraded engine. it used to be a 16 hp vanguard and now it has a 24 hp honda. i think i want to ability to run 2 guns so i want something between 7 and 8 gpm and something around 3500psi. does that sound ok? if so what pump would recommend and how do i know what type of uploader i have to get to support it? i appreciate all advice you can offer. thanks

Put a new unloader ( "uploader") on it and it should cure the pressure variations assuming your pump seals are in good shape and there are no issues with water starvation.

Call bob at www.Pressuretek.com and he an guide you thru the process of what pump and how to plumb it for 2 guns.

If you are planning a dual gun system you will want to go with a 8 gpm pump minimum but I would suggest 10gpm then each operator will have 5 gpm. The problem becomes your pressure at 8 gpm you can get up to 3300 psi at 10 you get about 2600 psi. The other issue is the burner it is not likely to have the high volume coil on it or the High volume burner assembly so don't expect too much heat any more. You can up the fuel nozzle and adjust the air bands and pressure to get a bit more but's but if you hit 150-160 at the high flow I would be surprised. For an unloader I would suggest the YU2140 it will be the most durable for that setup. (we use it on all our dual man units) For a pump a General or Udor will serve you well.
