Diameter of a 30 gallon Steel Drum.

Does anyone know the diameter of a 30 gallon steel drum. I am working on a little project and need to know, but am not sure where to go locally to measure one. Surely one of you folks has one of these available.

Never did get an exact number, but did find a 16 gallon one locally and it was almost a perfect fit, so I made it work instead.

Yes, in a round about way. The 16 gallon is actually easier to deal with and the size is fine. Had no idea that they had 16 gallon until I ran into one.

I have not heard of 16 gallon size drum either. But I've seen the the rectangular ones. I thought the 42 gallon size drum was a bizzare size but that's how they ship crude oil.
