kennyk 14 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 I am thinking about getting a 1993 chev 3/4 ton truck with a 6x8 flat bed on it. I will be mounting a landa pghw, a 225 gallon tank, and hose reels. Has anyone had any experience working off a truck instead of a trailer? What were your likes and dislikes?
RSuds 24 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 I like the flatbed better for the guys to drive.
Isaac B 14 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 I would go with a longer bed, I filled up my 12' bed pretty quick. I now have an enclosed trailer. What I liked about the flatbed was easy to maneuver, looks, and fuel milage (diesel). It did get old fast lifting and tying down stuff multiple times throughout the day. big mike 14 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 We used to have a 1 ton flatbed with an 8' bed. Skid, 225 gal tank, tool boxes, etc. Liked it alot, but didn't use it much after we got our Isuzu's. Working off a truck is definitely the way to go, but it is ideal to have more than one in case of a breakdown. Here's a pic:
