Cat 3CP Pump

Hello Group,

I have a truck mount carpet cleaning machine with a 24 HP Honda v Twin and a Cat 3CP pump. Is this set up powerful enough to say wash a deck,driveway or house with?

Washing you deck or house isn't about power/PSI, it's about using the right chemicals and enough gallons per minute (gpm). Too much pressure is going to damage whatever it is you are trying to clean. The exception would be concrete; A nice surface cleaner connected to the right psi and gpm will give you what you want.

Yes you can, depending on which model you have it will work better than others. Like Rick said the detergents and procedures make all the difference in how it turns out.

I usually run the pump at around 1000 PSI. Does that sound about right?

That is a good pressure for decks as long as you still don't get too close or stay in one place too long.

Consider what the pressure will reduce to after nozzles......

I use a 40 degree tip (white) which works great at cutting back the pressure and provides a nice fan-like spray. I use my 4GPM (4000 psi) cold machine for wood cleaning, while the larger 5.5 GPM is used for rinsing and to run my surface cleaner.
