Jumper hoses on unloader

I just had 6 inch hose from pump to unloader fail. Water squirted everywhere. I thought ok no biggie I have 2 foot jumper hose on me. Boom! It doesn't fit! Can someone explain to me why pressure hoses going in and out of unloader have hydraulic ends on them rather than regular npt thread ends?

A manufacturer's choice. You could remove the JIC fittings and hose barb it.

I could definitely switch out fittings but I don't think I could hose barb them. They are high pressure lines from unloader to pump and from unloader to coil. I could hose barb bypass line from unloader to float tank.

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the bypass.

Yeah, hose barbs won't work well under pressure.

But you can remove the JIC fittings and replace the hoses with 3/8" mpt.
