Burner smoking issue

Recommended Posts

I have two exactly same Ramteq DV2500 vertical skids that are only 300 hrs apart. 110v burners. One never gives out any smoke, not even a puff when you squeeze trigger. The other one gives a big puff of blue diesel smelling smoke when you open the gun and then runs pretty clean just smells like diesel. Last night guys called me saying the smoke is white ( which means not enough fuel). What am I looking at for the remedy to the first issue and what can cause second issue of white smoke. I was thinking that blue smoke and tacky smell may be from insulation soaked in diesel due to malfunction in burner or burner nozzle? And white smoke may be from nozzle totally clogged?

Hi Andy, 1st issue is caused when feul is pumped in, but does'nt ignite straight away, then suddenly whoomp, off it go's. Same as a carby in a car when they get flooded.

2nd issue, I think is water in the feul system. Don't quote me on it tho.

Andy,

hesitation to ignite can be as simple as too much air "blowing out" the spark.

..or.. The electrodes set at Beckett or Wayne.. for a home heating system,

NOT a pressure washer heater.. They have different burner chambers,

and most pressure washer manufacturers don't change from the factory setting.

go to my website for the adjustment that make ignition more reliable..

click here, and scroll down to the electrode diagram.

call with any other question :{)

as the electrodes are worn, the tips erode, and that opens the gap.

Also, "bouncing down the road" month after month takes it's toll on adjustments.

If you compare these machines to be more like an off-road race car..

you'll undersatand reliability and abuseability better..

..you don't get to plug it in and forget about it, like a refridgerator.

Adjust the electrodes,

and don't bank on luck
