Vinyl siding issue, This is a good one...

Pressure Washed a vinly house the other day. When we finished it looked great. After it completely dried we noticed quite the opposite... If you looked at it from the front, dead on, it looked to be great. It was only when you looked at it, from a "side" angle that it looked botchy, irregular, chalky and discolored ???

Process we used: We used a simple mix of Cherry, chlorine and of course water. Medium pressure and hand washed. Temps that day, sunny in the 90's.

Can anybody please give me feedback on what we can do to correct this problem. Customer concerned that siding is damaged and we naturally are looking for all help in correcting what has happened. Thanks

If you use pressureto wash vinyl siding you probably did damage it

Did any sections dry before you got them rinsed? Not sure how you can hand wash fast enough without the soap drying on you.

Was the siding oxidized or chalky before you started? It's possible you cleaned some of the oxidation off and the clean spots don't match, but that would mean you used some pressure too.

Ditto on the soap not rinsing part also though. Got to be one of the two.

For the future.

As an upsell, and to avoid this problem.

Douche a heavy application of carnuba wax on the vinyl immediately after the cleaning.

It doesnt matter how you apply it thru xjext or dedicated pump whatever.

It's not comet proof but, it will hold a sheen on the vinyl for quit a while.

plus..... like I mentioned... it's a great upsell.

Thanks to everyone for all your feedback. Special thanks to Mike at FCPW. Looks like it was an oxidation issue along with too much psi. Had to hand scrub with F13 to tone it out.

The whole house? How long did it take you? How hot did you have to make the mix? I've always wondered how hard it would be to clean oxidized siding....
