0 bigchaz 157 Report post Posted August 26, 2012 It can be problematic and recurring so the only sure fire way is to replace the boards. You can scrape the excess and clean with turpentine to try and wipe off the surface sap but i find that the sap veins can be deep and continue to leach out. If you are redoing with a solid you could probably try to just sand off and just hope for the best. 0 James 624 Report post Posted August 28, 2012 The new PT decks are very problematic with regards to sap. I have a deck that about 15 boards have been replaced and then some of those sapped. Very pricy deck and under a warranty from the builder. Just had another one get sapped pretty bad. The new wood blows. I have another one coming his week.
