What size pressure washer do you use?

How many gpm? and how much PSI? I am looking to buy one in the spring, I would like to get a consensus. Also please note if your satisfied or dissatisfied with your current pressure washer.

It really depends on your target market you plan to service. However, there a couple things to look for in any market.

Go with a minimum 5GPM machine @ 3500PSI. A belt drive machine will give you better performance in the long run.

If you plan to attack commercial cleaning you will want to have heat.

I have two 5.1GPM @ 3500PSI machines on my trailer which are plumbed to run independently and combined. Running two machines has real advantages. Also, running both machines combined allows me to run 10.2GPM @ 3500PSI.

I am very satisfied with my GPM and PSI.

We use 4 gpm units. both 3000 psi.

Residential business; I don't recommend anything higher as some faucet flow restrictors don't keep up with the demand of the pump.

Since 2003, we have used Hydrotech skids.

I would think in residential work a small float tank (100 gallons for 2 machines) could easily keep up with 5.6GPM machines. The time saved is worth it. I ran 4GPM machines for several years and now run 5.1 and can really see a difference.

I do have float tanks for both my units.

1- is a 150 gallon for my 8 gpm unit

the other is a 30 gallon for my 4.5 gpm unit.

The small 3 gallon tanks that come with the small skids don't fair well when the water is agitated upon entry

and creates air bubbles that go through the pump.
