Is this normal?

Question

Stained with Armstrong Clark semi-solid in Sequoiapost-9859-137772461078_thumb.jpg on Friday afternoon. Woke to a rain this morning (Monday) to find oil floating on top of the deck. Also noticed no beading of water as I thought would happen. I know there are non-drying oils in the mix so is this normal?

Has no bearing on the paraffinic oil, that is in the wood, not on it. Likely, it is linseed oil, with resins and pigment also present on the surface. You may have over applied the stain a bit, but not a problem unless the stain itself is still wet. Is it normal? I would say Yes.
