Supercharge your pump-up

Recommended Posts

Heres a neat trick to make your pump-up sprayer a high volume pumping machine.

Undo the collar holding the 3/8 hose onto the threaded nipple at the top of the tank.

Take the collar off the hose and set the collar aside

Pull out the puny little pickup tube that runs from the afore mentioned nipple to the bottom of the tank.

Slide the collar onto a 10' piece of 3/8 braided ply chem hose

Cut the end of the hose at a slight angle (the hose end that goes to the bottom of the tank)

Use soap to lube the hose up and push it into the tank through the threaded hole at the top. Push it in until it hits the bottom.

Slide the collar down the hose and tighten it real tight.

Now the wand is what many of you use for your shur-flos.

Here is list of parts in order of assembly

3/8" hose barb with 1/2 male threads

1/2" ball valve (schedule 80) with female threaded ends

24" long schedule 80 riser in 1/2" with male threads on both ends.

1/2" female threaded 45deg elbow

1/2" to 1/4" reducer (1/2" male and 1/4" female)

Insert your 1/4" nozzle of choice and walla,

Of course use teflon tape on all assemblies.

I got all my parts at Lowes for around $13

Good Luck

Richard

It says my pics are too large. I have no idea how to make them smaller. Wish I could explain it better. Basically your replacing all the stock stuff ie. pickup tube, out let hose and wand with 3/8" hose and 1/2" pvc wand with ball valve shut off. That way there is no restriction until the fluid hits the nozzle. Confused more now aren't ya!
