Had the pump for 4 months. Only chlorine was drawn through it. Getting ready to clean a roof a few days ago and no suction. Cleaned the diaphragm out and assembled it backed together and still no suction. The motor runs but no suction. Any suggestions?

Probably the valves...either debris or got dried out. Check them good for little pieces of crud holding them open. If you can't find anything, try putting a little oil on the rubber flaps and try running it again.

do you have a micro mesh filter on the end of the inlet line? If so, check to see that it has not become clogged. If no filter, perhaps the line has something in it obstructing the flow.

If that is not the problem, then your diaphram could be damaged.

Rod!~

After taking the diaphragm apart I found that there was a lot of sand in it. Mainly in between the spring and the white cap covering it. I figure that it was sticking. But it still not working.

What does the oil do?
