blackjack21 14 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Did some windows yesterday and a couple of them were some sort of plexiglass or something. Washed with the usual vinegar, soap and water mix. When I was done I wiped the plexi windows w a paper towel and it left a permanent smudge mark. It looked like it was scratching the plexi or something. The glass windows were fine. All windows have tint on them. Please help thanks. Blackjack
Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 On this type of window you need to avoid using any abrasive types of wipes including paper towels and terry cloth. You can buff out the scratch using a glass polish with micrograins <.3mcg. This should help to remove the smudges. Window pro's, wanna chime in here??? (make sure my info is correct please) Rod!~
Guest Danebob Report post Posted September 7, 2006 Plexiglass is tricky and scratches easy. Use a soft terri cloth towel or micro fiber cloth. Paper towels will scratch and smudge the surface as you've experienced. A mild soad and wipe, Don't scub. as far as removing the smears try some of that glass cleaner Rod mentioned. Have a good one.><>
Paul Kassander 26 Report post Posted September 7, 2006 A fine polishing compound works well I have used it to take scratches on the plexiglass windows on my equipment.
