So it was not the horse? What kind of pump? I got a brand new AR 3025 3600 psi 8 gpm for just under $800.00 Sounds odd to have a pump rebuilt for that much. Unless you broke a rod or something.

Lets hear some details, and see if the same thing happens again if you can do the work yourself and save some cash.

I feel your pain brother. I bought an APW skid just before they went out of business. I seem to be running to the repair shop every 2-3 months for one thing or another. Very agrivating to say the least, and quite costly. At least the shop does me right on labor.

We also had the oil/filters/air filters done as well.

It was really about 550. The total bill was 696

How any hours do you have on these pumps? Do they bypass to the tank?

Yes they do bypass. Tons of hours.

The second machine was only a unloader valve and rpm setting. They adjusted the carb. They put on a rpm meter and pressure gauge to check all.
