Wood Fence ?

I am not a woody nor am I interested in being one. But I PW a friends house & drive for him and he asked about the fence so I hit it for him. I did good no streaks or anything but it looked like the wood fuzzed up in some places. Fence is a pressure treated wood. He is extremely happy with it but I don't know why it left that stuff on it. Did I mess up the wood?

Without asking a number of questions, here is my guess: It could have been dry wood from weathering, over use of chemicals or too much pressure.
