What kind of pump do you use for applying acids. I have a shurflo pump set up. I ran saferestore through it and it didnt affect the pump but the wand does not seem to like it. I have a job that i will need to apply muratic acid. will my set up work for this stuff with a better wand. What does everybody use?

Jeff,

I use a plastic ball valve instead of a gun when applying acids. Guns usually lasted 1 day when applying hydrocloric acid, even the "acid" guns do not last. Remember to rinse, the wand is still metal.

How much of an area do you need to cover and is it just to etch concrete? for pool decks in prep for coating I use the Xjet, you can cover a big area in no time. Also Jim Carroll uses Xjet for acids on new construction brick cleaning all the time

I've used shurflo and a phelps wand to apply muratic to a driveway. Just make sure you rinse everything out.

I cant use Xjet, I need to etch a oil change pit, so i cant get overspray on the shop floor. I might try the ball valve idea. Or just get a phelps wand. Thanks guys
