New deck advice?

Question

Hey guys-gals,

Well we are new to the site and have a question:

We are getting ready to clean and seal a deck(PT Pine) that is still new it's only 6mos old. I have never done one this new......any suggestions on do's and dont's for this project?

You could clean the deck with light bleach and soap then low pressure rinse.

What are you going to stain it with?

Its not realy that new if it has ben exposed for six months. Clean with a sodium percarbonate based cleaner like EFC-38, follow by acidic wash product like Citrallic for pH balance, and then seal with semi transparent, oil/alkyd based tinted sealer.

Now you could go to www.restore-a-deck.com and buy some of the fine cleaning products there to clean and brighten you deck.Tell Mr. Fenner i sent you ! :cool:

Probably Ready Seal from sun brite....The thing thats stumping me is that the wood still looks like NEW

If the deck looks that new it probally won't soak up the stain that well and will probally need to be done again in a year.
