Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 We have been in the decrepit grips of dial up for years. We finally upgraded yesterday to Verizon's new FiOS service - 15mbps up and 2 mbps down. This totally rocks! I got in like 50mb of photos last night and it was here in seconds. If you have the chance to get FiOS in your area, look into it. We're glad we did! 0 RyanH 14 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 In case anyone is interested in alternate technologies as well....although not comparable to dial-up, my wireless internet has been working rather well. I can stream 128 bit music with it no problem and can zip through pages and get decent downloads. If you are in an EVDO area, or want internet at home and on the road it's the way to go. Through verizon wireless I pay around $45 per month...my cable cost at home costs that much by itself. With this I could dump the cable at home and take the internet with me. If it wasn't for that whole wife thing......
