Jon 533 Report post Posted November 13, 2003 Ok this can be posted in a few forums but I chose this one for broad coverage. This is about WATER, EPA, storm drains etc. We all know the bottom line is NO WATER but RAIN water down the drains. Ok so your out doing your thing, water going down the storm drain etc. You get cited by EPA or city employee for letting the water go down the drain. You appear in court, you get your say but want the EPA guy to present his side first and the judge agrees. SO it is now time to show you broke NO LAWS. Your argument about breaking the law is simple and should for all times get EPA and other agencies that enforce CWA off our butts. Tell the Judge the water you are allowing to go down the drain is RAIN WATER. Truth be told, even the great Glaciers came from the rain before freezing. Tap water too, bottled water, ALL WATER. So who is breaking what law your honor? All I was using was CLEANED RAIN WATER but still it rained at one time before I used that water, right Sir. Case dismissed. See all water at one time was rain water, it becomes snow, melts, flows to water tanks, dams, etc. RIGHT

0 Jon 533 Report post Posted November 13, 2003 Alan I told you before DON'T get personal about my home life!!! No I tried HD 80 this time, Beth said it works better! I have never been cited nor do I plan to since I obey the laws. All I was saying is all water at some point came from RAIN. Therefor all water going down the storm drain is rain water. Read the law, it does not say it MUST BE RAINING, only that the only water allowed down the storm drains is rain water. Bet someone wins a case with that arguement then they change the laws to say something like "must be raining" or not prior rain water but current raining water. 0 Jon 533 Report post Posted November 14, 2003 This was posted not as a reason to not reclaim but a what if type of situation. More of a joke then anything but seems many took it to seriously from what I have seen in my mail.
0 Celeste 341 Report post Posted November 14, 2003 Why is okay to let the water go into the ground...ie, routing water into grassy areas or in the vertical cleaning area, water that goes up must come down and usually it soaks in next to the building you're washing - but water on flat surfaces must be reclaimed instead of letting it go into the gutters and storm drains? Ground water is not necessarily affected only by what goes into the storm drains?????
0 squirtgun 122 Report post Posted November 14, 2003 As I understand it,and Jon or Alan will more than likely prove me wrong. The quality of ground water and storm drian water are 2 seperate issues. The stuff that goes down the storm drains affects the animal life that live in and near the water ways where storm drains dump. I'm not saying that what goes down storm drains will not affect ground,I'm sure that it does somewhere in the chain of life. When you devert water to grassy areas or sand traps the earth acts as a filter(bioremediation),

0 Paul B. 523 Report post Posted November 14, 2003 Jon, Why do you think we would ever take you seriously?
0 One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted November 14, 2003 Scott, No need to prove you wrong as you are on the right track. You remember in science class when the dirty water that got poured thru sand and rock came out clean? Same theory. Of course what you wash and what chemicals you use are a major consideration.
