You poked your eye....in a hurry.... I would never be in a hurry to poke my eye, in fact I don't think it is at all on my list of priorities. You have only two eyes. You might consider seeking a doctor's advice about that eye. Beth :cup:

That wood looks thirsty....you said the setting was to a blue hue? Beth -
Ok folks, last year we put this poll up and people thought we were all doom and gloom. We weren't. So a year later, our Nations banks are failing, the auto industry is in the hopper, and many retail chains are closing stores. Inflation and unemployment are up. So....2009...what are your thoughts about how it looks for our industry, and how can we all face this and survive when many around us are selling out.... Please post in the thread and don't forget to vote. Beth

I can see why Ken would suggest his method with the lack of skilled and think-on-your- feet people that are available for crews these days. I am not saying yours Ken are bad, but I think your methods errs on the side of caution and avoiding customer issues...am I right? While we do not use tarps, we spend a great deal of time 'teaching' our crew the techniques of application, what to look for and what not to do etc. Eliminating the bad habits from the beginning saves a great deal of time in go backs later. wood restoration rig
Beth n Rod replied to Littlefield's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
For wood restoration, I wouldn't bother with a trailer setup but just make a rig in the back of your truck. Easier to get around in most of the confining drives and communities that were not built with trailers in mind. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/scrap-book/14024-fords-rule.html Mine is at post #4 Rod!~ -

You might want to see a doctor about that bleach burn in your sinuses....especially if you spike a fever and get green mucous.... Beth p.s. I don't spend time worrying about gutter cleaners....and not much more worrying about competition. I have found my time is far better spent on improving our business that worrying too much about what others are doing.

Many of us live in areas where parking a trailer is just not possible. Many housing communities have very limited parking. I know that had an impact on our decision. Beth P.S. Welcome to the forums, please go to your MY CONTROLS and add your signature. -

We spray and back brush. Spray on, work in, the brush person is right behind the spray person, not an issue. Beth :cup: -

Beth n Rod replied to TNRoofCleaner's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Never said you wouldn't get some on the floor, just not enough to make it worth tarping. And if you deal with it ...it is not an issue. Blend baby, blend... No offense.... ;) Beth -

Beth n Rod replied to TNRoofCleaner's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
You sooooo do not have to tarp the floors. We don't. It's a matter of technique. I have sealed many a deck and never tarped a floor, unless the floor was not being done at all. Beth -

No you don't...who told you that, the railing fairy? (just don't be sloppy and lazy) Looks more like cutting in lines to me. Don't cut in when you do your rails. Feather out the drips if any. Beth :cup: -
Yes, they are. Don't use sodium hydroxide on a asphalt shingle roof. Beth

Blackened decks
Beth n Rod replied to plainpainter's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I have seen that blackening from the residual Sikkens before. My suggestion... 1. strip 2. let weather 6 months 3. strip again, prep, seal. You may not get all of it on one strip, you may need a little UV action...and for prep I would buff that wood. Beth :cup:
