Ken Adelman Backing Obama By Michael D. Shear First Colin Powell. Now Ken Adelman? Adelman is the latest Republican foreign-policy heavyweight to endorse Sen. Barack Obama, telling the New Yorker's George Packer that he intends to vote for the Democrat in two weeks. "When the economic crisis broke, I found John McCain bouncing all over the place. In those first few crisis days, he was impetuous, inconsistent, and imprudent; ending up just plain weird," Adelman wrote, according to Packer. "Having worked with Ronald Reagan for seven years, and been with him in his critical three summits with Gorbachev, I've concluded that that's no way a president can act under pressure." Adelman was a key part of George Bush's defense agency and has held senior policy positions under Presidents Reagan, Ford and even Nixon. He's a staunch conservative, though he has broken with Vice President **** Cheney and former Defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld over the handling of the Iraq war. But he told Packer that Sen. John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate was the last straw. "That decision showed appalling lack of judgment," he wrote in an e-mail, according to Packer. "Not only is Sarah Palin not close to being acceptable in high office -- I would not have hired her for even a mid-level post in the arms-control agency. But that selection contradicted McCain's main two, and best two, themes for his campaign -- Country First, and experience counts. Neither can he credibly claim, post-Palin pick." In today's Post-ABC tracking poll, Obama is winning 22 percent of conservatives. That's his best showing yet among these voters, and if the percent holds on Election Day, it would be higher than conservative support for any Democratic nominee since 1980. Obama also wins 12 percent support among Republicans in the tracking poll -- exactly double Kerry's 2004 Election Day haul. Ken Adelman Backing Obama | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

Interior coverage with Sikkens should be pretty good, it's not going to absorb the way an exterior will. It must be a good sized cabin. Matt how many coats did you apply? Beth

  19. Obama - Biden - Your Opinion ?

Spent a bit of time watching reporters from around the globe gauging the popular opinion of what is going on here in America as they are affected as well. It is pretty interesting to find that overall, McCain is not the person they feel best qualified for the job and many think he is to old and set in the old ways which up to this point have produced what we all endure each day. How global viewers saw the McCain-Obama battle - CNN.com The British who contended that Americans made a major mistake re-electing Bush feel we are finally showing some sense in switching away from the republican party majority which hasn't happened in over 40 years...that was around the time of Nixon (Rep) and his infamous economic blunders which sent the economy into a recession. Its interesting to watch. Rod!~
  20. Obama - Biden - Your Opinion ?

Get the FACTS. Also MANY republican voted the SAME WAY due to a law already being on the books about life saving measures. There was no need for the vote at all was the point of those who voted. 22. Blackened decks

The way I understand it is that if there is a mildewcide failure in the product, this allows for a suitable condition to allow mildew to grow and proliferate especially in linseed/tung oil formulated products. Failures in my opinion are probably occuring due to the introduction of alcohols in the latest formulations to lower voc's and possibly creating an environment that is incompatible with the polyphase used in most products with them. This is my best guess and don't jump me for speculation here. We have begun addding a mildewcide to each container as a precaution due to extended and sometimes undeterminable dry/cure times. Rod!~

  24. Blackened decks

Dan, My opinion - mildewcides can and sometimes do fail, and your work could be spot on, making it a product issue. Look at the old Behr lawsuit years back. It was - as proven in court - a mildewcide issue. Beth
  25. Blackened decks

Mildew grows everywhere. However, I will say I have seen different scenarios...in some cases the mildew grows under the finish for several possible reasons, in some cases the mildew grows in the finish for a couple possible reasons, and also the finish can grow on top of the finish. Under the finish - improper prep, improper cleaning, incomplete stripping *tip: carefully inspect the deck while wet BEFORE you call it a day in the finish - formula issue, typically a biocide or mildewcide failure, perhaps an oil issue *tip: add extra mildewcide to your finishes prior to application on top of the finish - due to moisture, pollutants, pollens, humidity, and/or exposure. *tip: maintenance washes help to keep #3 from becoming #2. Hope this helps. Beth
