Mountain View 14 Report post Posted July 25, 2007 I have a 20" General Pump floater for a flat surface cleaner. It looks just like a Wisper Wash but grey (private label maybe?). Anyway, during my last job (3800 sq. ft. aggregate driveway) it think a couple of stones got picked up under the cleaner and may have bent one of the arms just enough to cause an annoying vibration. I've turned it upside down and spun it around but can't see where the imbalance is. Is there a techinique to figuring out where the problem is? If I run the cleaner without moving it kinda rocks side to side a little (when I'm moving too). Gracias.
Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted July 25, 2007 Is one of the nozzles clogged? This would cause an imbalance too. Turn it over and pull the trigger and see how the spray comes out of each nozzle. This will give you and indication. Otherwise, if the spray bar is bent, the best fix is to replace it. Rod!~
One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 Those rocks could have damaged the tips so even if they are not clogged they may not spray right. Can the bars be adjusted, if so that may be all that is nedded. Continue to run it with a vibration and the union will wear out prematurely.
Hotwaterwizard 33 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 Think of the arms as a fan blade. When it spinns around it has to be balanced. The angle of the tips are criticle too. You can see if your arms are balanced by hanging them on a string from a Tee.
PA Dutchman 14 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 I'd suggest consulting with your supplier.
Hotwaterwizard 33 Report post Posted August 10, 2007 When you hang the Arms as a complete assembly you can see if they lean one way or the other. If they lean you just grind off some metal off of the elbow that hangs lower. I use a level to see when they are both even.
