Possible Cheap Burner Remote Control

Recommended Posts

I just purchased what I hope to be a cheap remote control unit for my 110 volt burner. I am very optimistic about it working. All of my washing is in line of sight of my burner.

The cost was $20.00

It is made by GE and is made for outdoor use.

The range is up to 150'. An additional module is available to extend the range an additional 150'. On most occasions I would never have more than 150' of hp hose out.

The maximum resistive load is 1440 watts.

The maximum motor load is 1/3 HP.

These specs. are well above my burners requirements

The remote fob can control up to 8 devices and is powered by a small 12 volt battery. It is the size of a car remote.

As soon as the rain clears I will let you all know how well it works.

Well we tried this remote out on this fine 36 F morning.

It worked great. Used the remote to cut the burner on and off from various distances.

The longest distance was 138'. On and off and back on with no problems at all.

All engagements were however made with a clear line of sight.

Anyway I am as tickled as a pig in...........!

The remote will operate up to eight additional devices once you add additional modules. Now I am really thinking.

Hmmm. Burner, lights, soap on and off ect. ect.

I looked at home depot, no such thing, and no one could figure out what I was talking about.

do you have a specific brand or name it comes under?
