I am just wondering what insurance companies people use on this board

and a good example of what your premiums are and for how much coverage you carry...?

Rob,

Insurance will vary not only based on provider's differences but between regions and also the specifics of the businesses being insured along with specifics of the policy.

Off the top of my head, here are some factors I can think of that impact costs of a policy:

- How long you've been in business.

- How many claims have been made against you.

- What type of work you do (commercial, residential, deck restoration, concrete cleaning, fleets, tall buildings, etc.).

- How many employees you have.

- How much liability coverage is on YOUR facility.

- How much of YOUR equipment is covered.

- How much liability coverage you carry on single incident and aggregate.

- Whether your coverage includes the substrate you are cleaning or working on or NOT.

I guess besides Paul B., there probably arent that many people on this board

that carry any insurance,? or dont do enough full time work to need to have any..? anyway I would think $1000 would be a fair price for a million dollar liability Ins. plus $10,000 in Equip. Insurance

Rob,

Call Joe Walters to get a quote. He is one of the few insurance agents that will write a policy for pressure washing. I carry $500,000 in liability and $20,00 for equipment. My premium is around $950 a year. It just went up about $60 from last year. His phone number is 412-831-8222

I only have my machine and trailer accually covered on my inland marina, I need to bump that up. When I first started I bought what I needed, and not anymore.

I pay about 180.00 with a 500.00 deductable.

Thanks, This policy is coming up, with a 450.00 reel since added and the cost of new equipment, It needs to be at least 10,000.00.

Matt

I just changed over to Joe Walters agency. about $1150 for 1mil covg. very helpfull and knowledgeable. My local agent didnt really know how to underwrite it and wasnt very helpful so needed to change.

My only problem with JW agency is that they dont write 5 mil covg. and I had a lock on a commercial property if I carried that ammount. Had to let it go, since Im not going to shop around again.

My answer fro anyone looking for pressure washing insurance is not what company you use but your need a large commercial broker. The reason is over the years I had many small agents that wrote my policies and they could not facilitate my request. I found mine by the smaller guy directing me to another that could write and cg29 that most larger builders require. {I’m not explaining what that is just research that yourself}

Anyway, Joe Walters is a larger or what you might call a specialist. He handles commercial types of insurance. I would recommend you find the Joe Walters close to you. Every major city has on or two guys that write the most commercial policy’s.

How do you find these guys, call farmers, state farm & all states head quarters and ask. Example: just say could you direct me to the three largest commercial brokers in my area. ( don’t ask the agents)

Give these people all the info that Paul provided and they will get you the best quote.

Keep in mind this is what I’m telling you, I service Flat work. I do a great job servicing flat work. I’m effective and quick at what I do. I specialize in that field. My customers all are very satisfied. If someone says Ron can you wash trucks I can say yes. Does that mean when they hire me they will be getting the best service or even the best price? I will charge more because its really something I do not do or want to do. don’t assume that and insurance guy wants your commercial policy. Take it to one you know wants it. Its more work to write these and the right guy is set up and ready to do it. Just like I do flat work.

I have a million dollar liability and $10,000 on equipment . My deductable is either $250 or $500. My trailer is not covered but the equipment is. It was something about covering a commercial trailer on residental tags.If I got commercial tags then they said my boat would not be covered when I towed it. 6x12 tandem was $1500 boat was more so I chose not to cover trailer.I go through a small independent rep in my hometown . The policy goes to virgina mutal. Its a little over $400 a year.I've told 3 other pressure washing companies of this policy and they have all switch. One man was a insurance saleman and could not find a better policy. My local rep is Rogers Insurance 919-362-8310.

I just got finished with the month long search for complete insurance coverage for my company. Believe it or not, the search ended at the same company I have now..lol

www.servicemagic.com gave me the best rates for every insurance type possible. Except medical insurance, we use a seperate company for that.
