plainpainter 217 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Rick, check this out - this is a link to my Aunt's Brewery in Northern France. It's all in French - but you can nagivate easily especially to the page to all the different beers. Brasserie De Clerck SITE OFFICIEL, bières de Picardie, bière Colvert, Poppy... I haven't been there in ages - but it's kind of cool getting all the beer you want in your Aunt's backyard.

0 RPetry 564 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Daniel, You lucky dog, what are you doing in Ma.? If my aunt owned a brewery that produced all those tasty looking beers, I'd ingratiate myself somehow, just to stick around. Sweep floors, clean vats, harvest the hops. Join the Foreign Legion. Even if it is located in socialist France. She really produces some fine looking beers. 5:30 AM and I'm getting thirsty. Gotta' close that web page... 0 plainpainter 217 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Rick - here is a pic of my cousin, Josephine, she's posing next to a vat - she runs the restaurant/pub/cafe now. And if you scroll down here are the beer jellies they are pushing now. Imagine that toast in the morning with beer jelly? 0 Scott Stone 604 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Peronne? I lived in Amiens for a short time. I will have to look and see where Peronne is on a map now. Now that I have looked, there is an American Military Cemetary just south of there, if I am not mistaken. For those of you that do not know, that is definitely not the most scenic part of France. It iskind of like Kansas with a foreign language, though the Somme valley itself is not bad.
0 plainpainter 217 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Scott - I know amiens well - I wouldn't agree that it's not scenic. But true French countryside is very reminiscent of farming prairies
