What kind of Unloader is this?

Recommended Posts

Ok I know this is going to sound stupid, but I have to ask. On the used skid I just bought the unloader feeds back into the pump, is this better than the kind that doesn't feed back into the pump ie into a tank? And too, there is a regulator? on it as well, what is that? And too, if I was to replace this unlaoder, should I gat one that is an ez start too? The pump is a GP TS 2021 if that helps. Thanks and please hold your criticism, I have to ask the stupid questions to learn.

Unloaders built into or bolted onto the manifold of the pump cannot be bypassed to a tank. All others (trapped pressure, flow controlled, regulating) can be plumbed to bypass to your tank. For more detail on how to, post a pic of your unloader.

Yep, we need to see images !!

AVOID the unloaders with the built-in EasyStart valve !

the more ways a component can fail, the more it will.

and.. it will be more difficult to troubleshoot.

..use a sepatate EZ start, or with the FLOW actuated unloaders, you don't need one,

as they don't trap pressure when the gun is off.

Prefer the bypass to tank,

prefer FLOW-actuated unloaders,

ALWAYS allow unloaders to bypass a little for long life..

the seats don't hammer or erode as fast.

I prefer the Giant and General versions..

the K-7 is the most rebuildable, but maxs out at 3600psi. to 9gpm

the Giant 22654A goes to 4000 psi, but 5gpm max

the K-9 is too expensive,

and the AL-Saturn.. will waste your time.

e-mail me or call for adjustment instructions,

and plumbing configurations.

Glad to help !

Ok, the unloader is an AP 550. However, mounted on it is a United Electric Pressure switch pn# 10-B13. and it says that the operating pressure is 100- 1500 psi!! That can't be right can it?
