jgotterb 14 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 I have been reading of guys always pulling water from their tank. I thought the tank was just for time when the job you are going to has no water supply. And if you are always trailering water isn't that a lot of added weight? acegot 14 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 Small tanks (5-55gal.) are for protection against poor water volume & pressure so you dont starve the pump. Lot of areas could have water issues, small lines w/ poor pressure & volume, wells etc. The smaller tanks are referred to as buffer tanks. Try doing another search on the topic. Call me if you want on any ?'s. I am a retired 25 year autobody tech., saw you are a bodyman also. Been doing p-washing & decks for 19 years. Lyle
Doug Dahlke 114 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 I always feed off of my tank but I don't trailer it around full. Keep an eye on it during the job and turn off the supply line when you have enough in the tank to finish the job. You don't need to haul all that extra weight around. Scott Stone 604 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 I haul mine full, but then, a lot of times, I am washing things where there is absolutely no access to a hose bib.
TNRoofCleaner 16 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 Hauling the tank full is better than half full to eliminate the sloshing affect.
Russ Spence 76 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 I haul mine full from time to time as well with no problems (500+ gallons) anyway, I have never had a pressure washer that was not hooked to a tank, I dont think I would know how? haha
