CLASSICPW 14 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 My Hydrotek 3005 has, I believe, the 16hp briggs and stratton engine. Anyway It's been hard starting lately, just crankin for a good 5 seconds before fire up. The battery's good, just not sure what else to do.

Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) 2 possibilities: 1, Oil is low or 2. Oil Sensor could be the problem, either change it or remove it and cap it. I did the same with my Kohler and no longer had the problem. You will need to check your oil level every day though. I make it a practice to do it the first time I start it everyday. Tim McCulla 14 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 Sounds like a tune up to me. New Plugs - could be dirty and/or out of gap. New fuel filter and check the line for leaks - if it is not flowing freely the fuel pump could have to work a little harder. Also, if you have a slight leak in the line all the fuel could be draining back to the tank - taking longer for the fuel to get to the engine. Let us know how you make out.
