Vinyl Lettering

Question

Has anyone ever done their own lettering on the truck or trailer?

I haven't had my newest truck done yet and I hate the idea of handing over 1000 dolars for it (I could get a few tanks of gas for that price). I applied the lettering on my last trailer and it came out fine.

For the last several weeks I have been doing plenty of research then finally bought my own vinyl cutter/plotter. I watched every Youtube video available about graphics and plotters. I doesn't look very difficult to create your own designs.

Well, I'll keep you updated. The machine should be here the first week of May.

We do all of our stuff. Almost everything is reflective vinyl which pops at night big time. Spend time and layout your stuff on the computer first. That's the hardest part.

We thought about putting Vinyl lettering along with our Logo on the new trucks we just ordered. Then we realized that our marketing and also being that we cater to the Industrial Client, that we just do not need to install Vinyl lettering at this time. None of the trucks we bought in the 23 years of cleaning Parking Garage Decks did we ever have any signage on our rigs or trucks. Not saying that is bad or good, just that we never did.

These new 3500 Dodge Cummins 4x4 Crew and single cabs are just entering production as of yesterday. These trucks, along with our Dodge 2011 trucks will almost double our fleet of trucks.

Just like our current trucks, We won't be leasing these trucks ( leasing from Dodge results in only a 50 dollar a month savings over buying the trucks)... instead we will purchase these Dodges and will be using Dodges 0% for 36 months. The Longhorn will be for myself. The rest of the fleet of trucks will have the Larime's options. Hopefully next year, we will purchase a few more 3500 Cummins 4X4's.

My trucks are lettered. I didn't letter them in the past, but I have contracts that require lettering.

In all honesty, I am surprised at how many calls that we receive off the signage.

I agee... Signage has it's place in the advertising world. We also thought the same, but we found that word of mouth is rock solid. This is what gets us the jobs without question or haggling on price.

I remember back in 1989 when we advertised. We was bombarded with calls. We was asked to bid on this and that. Some for insurance others was just price shopping and the rest was competitors trying to find out what we charge for our services. I wasted so much time, fuel and resources on that. I new there had to be a better way to get business.

This is one of the things we will talk about in the Filtration Event / Parking Garage Deck event that will be held in Las Vegas for the March line up. Real hands on stuff. Small and Large filtration units for different kinds of filtration jobs will be there for your review from the people who use them everyday. I will bring my filtration unit and show it for the first time. Hot and Mighty will bring their unit as represented by Jim Cooney. Robert Hinderliter and Mike Hinderliter will be there showing their filtration units that is just coming out on the market. Hydro Tek will be represented as well along with a few others. If you want to know about filtration, this is the place to be folks.

Why waste time your time... Let a vinyl guy do it quick and easy and you go out and make the bucks. Putting our 6th truck in service on Monday and my sign guy knocks them out in 24 hours full color for $900.00. It's by far the best ROI you'll probably ever have so put some thought into it.

We put signage on so people know what we are doing. We got a 50 pc gas station chain from the owner driving past the lift while we were working and calling from his cell phone

Exited about the event Jim. I will introduce you to the policy makers here in Las Vegas.

We started interacting with them on a social level last year in preparation for any moves you might make this way.

Our casino HVAC customers are particularly interested in your event since they clean their own garages and enjoy a good , low restriction, working relationship ($$) with the authorities.

Now that we know the event is in March, they can help me prepare the policymakers for your uninvited out of state invasion into our place of business.

I am sure they are anxious for you and Robert to show them how much more equipment they need to buy to be compliant with the law. Lol.

That turned out very nice Greg. That is a great price also for the lettering, wish they had a location down here, can't get something like that for under $2000 here.

Everyone can always count on you to create DRAMA Tony **************.

You are coming to my state uninvited and I'm causing drama?

Who's house are you going to stay in this time because you "don't have enough money to pay for a hotel room?

Is Ron going to have to pay to fly someone to your place to help you drive your rig down because you "don't have any employees to help you drive and barely even have enough money for fuel"?

Who is going to feed you this time around and not only make you homecooked meals, but also pay for your restaurant meals so you don't look broke?

And who is providing classes for free this time because you should "not have to pay because you are spending money on fuel to get there"?

Who are you going to make sleep on the floor after they help you drive the 12hr trip back?

I will say, however, that after the entire ordeal I am thankful that after an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas you did dig deep into your shallow pocketbook and buy me breakfast at some Denny's type of establishment.

You must have come a long way in the past three years to go from an old 99 diesel and not even enough guys working for you to help you drive to dozens of employees and fleets of trucks.

But then again, you were bragging about how much money you made back then too.

I don't create drama. I report facts. And for every statement above except for the Denny's and floor sleeping (of which only You, I, and your family were witnesses) I will gladly ask the witnesses to post here and back me up.

Drama? Lol. One can't make up drama or fiction to compare with the stuff you put out in public.

Certainly have to shop around. I had quotes in the $2600 to $3000 range for the same thing. The guy who does my stuff works out of his home but has all the equipment to do full color laminated graphics.

i always have found it interesting that the guys that always start the drama, are the people accusing others of drama.

For instance, I have had my business directly threatened, in public, by Jim, yet, if I retaliate and respond, I am accused of starting drama. I have also been accused of causing drama, with simple, substantiated posts of why I disagree with Jim.

That is okay though, he also says that I light up the phone lines trying to get people to attack him. I freely, and openly, ask anyone that I have called about Jim and asked them to attack him, or even discussed him at length, post it here. Shoot, I would be willing to bet the people that I call, even on an infrequent basis, could all fit comfortably in a car for a trip to Denny's.

You don't really believe that happens do you??? The phone lines lighting up???

When he was here by my side for almost a week he didn't get more than 2 calls a day and those were from his family.

But amazingly before that week and after that week, contractors were "blowing up his phone". lol.

No real person is going to post here Scott.

There are no calls. And there are no subcontractors making "7 figures" from his tutelage.

Must be interesting to live in that fantasy world.

And what does your posts here have to do with the Gregs thread about lettering Scott, Tony & Doug? Nothing

Always seems that its you three that follow me around. Don't get me wrong, it because of you three that the EPA takes notice of me on a national level. If you did not write as much as you do, my rankings would not be as high as they are.... and the agencies that represent enforcement for discharge would not be asking me to give lectures. I believe it is solely because of Scott and Tony's endless responses resulting in myself getting noticed on the Federal and some States platform. For that I say thank you.

But again, with you three bringing up 1/2 truths about the past over & over again, what does this have to do with Gregs thread on Vinyl Lettering ? I am sure that everyone here is tried of it. You three sound like a broken record. Be a man, respect Gregs thread and Grow up !

The EPA has no idea who you are. No one here in Las Vegas has ever heard of you Jim. You are a legend in your own mind. Go ahead, name one compliance person in the state of Nevada who even knows your name or your company. It's all grandios talk bordering on some kind of neurosis.

I'm following you because you are going down as a fraud. Your online claims have always been in contradiction to what I witnessed with my own eyes. You are perpetrating fraud on this industry by publicly presenting false contaminate information to government authorities in an effort to benefit your own ailing business at the detriment of others.

Now that I no longer have to be physically present to run my business I have the free time to take this on full time.

I am shoring up Nevada now and will be working Northern California by the middle of this summer if things go as planned.

You are going to regret having ever messed with this industry when the mere mention of your name to any authority has them running the other way for fear of litigation.

I have documented every ridiculous and uneducated EPA claim you have ever made on the boards in it's full misspelled glory and will be taking it around for the amusement and study of all the real people behind the fake and anonymous phantom enforcers you frequently quote. I will find if there is prosecutable fraudulent statements and if so, I will file a complaint myself personally with great satisfaction.

Pray for my success Jim.

About as much as you bringing up your PRIVATE invitation only filtration event in a thread about vinyl lettering I guess. Glad we have helped you make a name for yourself, shows the power us three have. Thanks for the compliments.
