I too am very interested in what will remove Acrylic Latex. I just ran head long into another deck with this stuff on it. It failed bad after only 8 months peeling and all. Needs stripped and redone but everything I tested won't touch it...

So.....

We strip latex with Bix. At least as much as we can :) Then sand out the floor. When we do these we always two tone them though in order to save on stripping down the railing. We do typically strip the top of the handrail and go back to semi trans though.

The only other way to remove acrylic latex is with a big can of lighter fluid and a match......:D

Seriously, as far as I know, it's almost hopeless. It's either do as Greg mentioned, or cover over with another solid. Two tones are the perfect solution to keeping the costs down for the customer.

One last solution would be to replace the railing.

I have thought about the match although I was leaning more toward Gasoline.

It really is a shame that something that hard to remove fails (in most cases) so soon.
