0 reed 500 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I would at least give full stength HD80. I have not encountered anything I can't get off with hd80. Reed
0 Aplus 525 Report post Posted May 13, 2003 Reed, Be glad you haven't encountered acrylic latex. HD80 won't touch it.
0 One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted May 13, 2003 Tony, Don't leave us hanging. What will remove Acrylic Latex?
0 Howard 50 Report post Posted May 13, 2003 I too am very interested in what will remove Acrylic Latex. I just ran head long into another deck with this stuff on it. It failed bad after only 8 months peeling and all. Needs stripped and redone but everything I tested won't touch it... So.....
0 Greg Rentschler 14 Report post Posted May 13, 2003 We strip latex with Bix. At least as much as we can :) Then sand out the floor. When we do these we always two tone them though in order to save on stripping down the railing. We do typically strip the top of the handrail and go back to semi trans though. 0 Aplus 525 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 The only other way to remove acrylic latex is with a big can of lighter fluid and a match......:D Seriously, as far as I know, it's almost hopeless. It's either do as Greg mentioned, or cover over with another solid. Two tones are the perfect solution to keeping the costs down for the customer. One last solution would be to replace the railing. 0 Howard 50 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I have thought about the match although I was leaning more toward Gasoline. It really is a shame that something that hard to remove fails (in most cases) so soon.
