Degraffreed 21 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 To all the mechanic, I just had my Delco Rk41 unit modified so that upon releasing the trigger, it now bypasses back to my supply tank. No issues but I noticed last week that as I was servicing my Rv dealership lot, I released the trigger for about 10 minutes without spraying and I heard the unloader cycle a few times. My understanding in that since I have had the unit modified so that upon releasing the trigger.. my water would just cycle back to the supply tank. If my thinking is correct ... why did the unloader cylce? I hope I conveyed this so not to get anyone confused.
One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 While the water is bypassing to the tank, something made it come out of bypass and then go back in. Do you have a flow unloader? From what you described, it sounds like it, and if so you have a leak.
Degraffreed 21 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 OTP. Thanks for the responce but I have a pulsar 280 pressure actuated unloader that comes standard on Delco's units.
Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 If there is a leak downstream from that unloader, the valve will cycle every time the pressure bleeds off (hence, a TRAPPED pressure unloader). If the water isn't "trapped", the unloader won't work properly.
larryh 65 Report post Posted December 5, 2008 What Russ said is the most common cause, however air bubbles in the inlet will cause the same thing.
