Does anyone know what it entails to become a distributor?

The older I get, the harder pressure washing is getting! :(

The nearest pressure washing store to me is 20 miles and it's just a bay in a garage building, with virtually no inventory-mainly makes his $ on repairs.

If you can give me any advice, i'd appreciate it. :)

1. Have a working knowledge of pressure washer operation and application.

2. A building to work from.

3. An employee highly versed in repairs (gas engines, oil, natural, and LP gas burners, pumps, electricity from 12 volts dc to 460 volts ac, etc.)

4. Suppliers of equipment, parts, and chemicals.

5. Registration with the state for your corp. and sales taxes.

6. Start up capital.

7. Insurance.

8. Knowledge of target customers.

Mobile washers are only a small part of my business. Most of my income is in manufacturing plants, truck repair and sales locations, car washes, tanker wash plants, food processing plants, construction companies, etc. You have to be ready to extend credit (30 - 60 days), and have collection channels available. Get set up with a lease company, get a credit card processor, accounting software, etc, etc......the list is long. Call me if you'd like to chat...I've been in the business for nearly 30 years now. Consider distributers supply warehouses like you find in the trade magazines.

Do internet searches and compile a database of these sources.

Make up a contact list of suppliers and set up accounts with them.

You will need capital for inventory and operating expenses.

Find a place to set up your biz and place your orders.

This is pretty basic but having been down that road, its a start.

im also considering doing somethig different .I have plenty of capital .and some conections .im me and we can talk .
