1/2" Pressure Hose

According to a chart that I read, the pressure drop on a 8gpm machine for 100 feet of 3/8" hose is 130 psi vs an 80 psi drop with the 1/2" hose.

Any 8 gpm users who are using the 1/2" hose? Is it worth the weight and cost?

The only advantage I can see in the larger hose is the chem draw aspect if you are downstream injecting from the pump. You get a better draw from a larger hose due to the flow through it. Other than that, I don't see any benefit. It's a bit more weight to pull around and I have done just fine with the 3/8's size.

You're going to spend about 30% more to save about 2% of your pressure. I don't think it's worth it.

I really thought about it!! I run all 7gpm pumps and always use 300-350 ft of hose, so the farther you go the more it adds up, but I just never bit the bullet yet... Thinking about trying it on one trailer maybe...?? Don't know??!!

p.s. just got rid of my last 2- 6 gpm pumps and up graded to 7gpm. finnally!! Been wanting to for a long time but didn't.
