Douglas Hicks 128 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 Is your PW burner fired by gas, diesel, propane, electric or what? Loosen the fuel supply line to make sure you are getting fuel. Keep a fire extinguisher close by. A real fire extinguisher, not one of those POS things with a plastic valve. Make sure it is at least a 5 # ABC. Don't park too close to the house/shop. Is your capitol key stuck?

COOPER 14 Report post Posted April 2, 2007 More than likely, its the fuel filter.
ECS MARK 19 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I think Cooper is right if the burner comes on for a couple seconds then shuts off, I too would bet you have a dirty fuel filter. When you shut burner off some of the debris in the filter settles making a temporary path for the fuel to flow through the filter. This path quickly plugs when you turn the burner back on. I suggest you always have at least one spare Racor filter on hand. :cup:
PLD 14 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 And often trash settles in the bottom of the tank until it's sucked dry and pulled into the fuel system. Many engines with a perfect fuel system have become problematic after running dry.
One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted April 5, 2007 I suggest you always have at least one spare Racor filter on hand. :cup: A lesson you taught me awhile back that holds very true. Those darn things need replacing at the worst possible time and downtime really sucks when you do not have one.
