John Doherty 126 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 Was asked to include a quote on this w/a house wash and roof wash bid. I don't do wood and they just want it cleaned, and just the facade. I'd like to just put something in a pump up and rinse after some dwell time. Can any of you woodies direct me on the best method to clean this?
0 bigchaz 157 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 You could try a bleach/soap solution or a sodium hydroxide stripper if you have it available. Are you looking for some kind of chemical to order or to just use something you have?
0 squirtgun 122 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 Percarb would work perfectly. If you don't have any on hand Lowes carries the Olympic brand.
0 Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 I suggest EFC-38 followed by neutralizing with Oxylic or Citric acid (or a blend called Citralic) Extreme Solutions - Quality Restoration Products ^^You can get them here ^^ Beth
0 John Doherty 126 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 Thanks everyone! If I get this one I'll probably go the percarb route, as I don't have any of the other stuff, and this thing is so small it's really not worth ordering something for. Thanks for the input!! 0 Deck Guy 14 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 Percarb would be fine. About a 2% bleach solution with a squirt of soap works on cedar too. I don't neutralize after either of those.
