Boosting EFC-38 with Bleach?? Good Idea?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be doing some aggregate and conc. flatwork this week, going to use EFC-38 for the first time. There is alot of mildew/moss on the surfaces so Im thinking about mixing in some bleach and spraying it w/ my deckster...

Is mixing bleach with efc-38 a good idea? Don't want it to blow up in my face! Im guessin' its okay based on the chem props of the efc38. Any thoughts?

I don't think its a good idea to do that. I've never used efc-38 but I think I've heard/learned from others its a big NO NO.

Can you mix SH and bleach together? Or just just do seperate washes with them?

Yes you can,but keep an eye on the little green things that try to jump out of the mixing container when you do it.Those sucker will devour anything they can get their teeth into:lgbounces

Both are strong oxidizers and the combination will release hazardous gases and could cause any sprayer you fill this combination with to explode.

Ken's suggestions would work best. Apply HD-80 at 6oz/gal, wash, rinse then follow with bleach at 70/30 (water/bleach) and rinse again.
