Beth,
You think you have problems, I've got a hole in my thumb from a small tear in a glove and Eacochem's Stripper Cream. That stuff is powerful, ate through flesh!
Thought business was slowing down but have gotten slammed with work the last two days. Want to fly out to Mich. and pull my best kid out of U. of M. this semester!
Thats it for the season, no more jobs. Bids outstanding will just have to wait until spring. Enough already, its time for hibernation.

The call was on my business answering machine when I got in late this afternoon. Called Jennifer back and spoke at some length.
Some rain spots and the contractor sounds like he over applied the Cabot's stain. She thinks it is an oil, so told her about turpentine or Wil Bond to get rid of and even out the tacky areas.
Smart gal. Still has half the bill to pay so the contractor should make things right.

After a weekend hiatus for the NFL playoffs, it is back to priming and painting my office. Starting to get itchy for the spring, would much prefer staining wood!

Its friggin' freezing here, 34 F at the moment. Thats OK, need a morning off, last two jobs of the season need stain but will have to wait to start 'till noon. Third weekend in a row I've worked both days. Looking forward to this season being over!

Hi Beth,
Cold. Finished installing the oak on the main office floor yesterday. Now its on to 13 steps, a landing, and 2 closets. Rebuilding the stairs to install hardwood is a real chore but it looks terrific when done.

Looks like a wash out for work today. Received the "old growth" redwood shipment from Calif. yesterday. You should see this wood, it is gorgeous. Dense, tight grained, with a beautiful color. I'll take and post some pics when I get it up to the job site.

Sorry I missed this when posted. I have never used any Sikkens product, on ipe' or otherwise. Actually have never run into it, knock on wood!, as it is reputably difficult to remove. I think Beth & Rod were using Sikkens, at least in the past, so you may want to contact them.
I sure like the location of that job, need any help?

My office is a mess. My garage is a mess. My truck is a mess. My equipment needs winterizing. You should see my Springer Spaniel, she is a mess! Have not had the time to get her down to the breeder for grooming. Must have 200 cash receipts to enter into Quickbooks. I don't feel like doing squat!
Think I'll take the weekend off. Thank god this wood season is over!

Wait a minute, my wife is calling ... "What about our ipe' deck?" Aw geeze, gotta' go do my own wood. Maybe I'll call in a handyman...

Yeah, its friggin' cold here. My Springer Spaniel "Lia" is raring to go... Lets snoot through the ground ice, lets run on the lake ice, lets chase the geese and ducks. Judy's Miniature Schnauzer "Nolie" is like, "hey, its wet and cold, where's breakfast!"
Good 'hunkerin' down time. Don't check the markets more than twice a day!

Hah, break is over. Rebuilding my server with the latest Fedora Linux OS. Ripping out the carpet and installing hardwood flooring on the stairs and 3rd floor. That should take me through January!
