Winterizing PW'er

Question

Putting the pw'er up for the winter. I seen those pump saver liquid, I guess you spray into the pump. Is one better than the other? Locally only sears sells them and was wondering if craftsman was just as good as the others?

thanks

Hi Don

When we put washers away we use windshield washer fluid. Be sure to use a trigger gun and cycle the unloader a few time, this will clear water from the bypass port.

RV-Marine antifreeze. Cycle it through your unloader. I add windshield wiper fluid into my holding tanks. Blow air through your water supply hose to drain it or you will crack your hose reels.

Use RV antifreeze, not automotive antifreeze. There is a difference.

ok, what's the difference?

4ozs of anti freeze will FILL my ts2021 and comes out the pres tap with the little fitting thingy I posted...

why will rv/marine be better?

first off i wouldnt keep it outside.

second if your going to use anti antifrezzzzzz, please run it thru the whole system. when you want to remove it use a 5 gal bucket and you can reuse again and again.

the pump will suck in the anti freeze. you can down stream it also.

The window fliud is a better idea. I use it when i head to the hills.

I don't know what the difference is with RV antifreeze but I'm told there is a difference. I even lost a pump one winter. I run three different pumps (Cat General, and Comet). At least one of these advise RV, not automotive for the winter.
